The Five Emotions You Need to Feel to Make Money

You want to make more money in your business? You’ve got to get uncomfortable. I’m not just talking about taking big actions or learning new strategies. I’m talking about letting yourself feel emotions that most people run away from.

Because here's the truth: the path to getting paid is emotional.

Every time I hit a new income milestone, I can trace it back to feeling—and moving through—one of these emotions. These aren’t “nice” feelings. They’re raw. They’re stretchy. But they’re necessary.

Here are five emotions I believe you must feel if you're serious about making money in your business (plus a bonus one):

1. Embarrassment 😳

Embarrassment is part of the price of success. The first time you put yourself out there, make an offer, go Live, pitch someone—it might flop. People might not buy. You might feel cringey.

But that moment? That’s your initiation.

I’ve had people ignore my offers, unfollow me, or leave me on read. And I still kept going. Because embarrassment is evidence that you're playing bigger. If you're never embarrassed, you're probably hiding.

Let it be awkward—and do it anyway.

2. Exposure 😬

Putting your work out into the world is an act of bravery. When you launch an offer, post your story, or say “I can help you,” you're opening yourself up to visibility.

And visibility feels vulnerable.

Sometimes clients tell me they’re afraid people will see them “trying.” You know what that means? You’re afraid of exposure. But exposure is how you get seen, and paid.

Feel the exposure, and let it expand you.

3. Pride 💅🏾

Yes, I said it.

You need to feel proud of your work. You need to believe it’s excellent. That your coaching or consulting or course changes lives. That your clients are better because they hired you.

Pride is the emotion that sells your offer with conviction. Without it, you’re shrinking. Pride doesn’t mean arrogance, it means ownership.

Say it with your chest: “This is amazing, and I made it.”

4. Determination 🔥

The ones who win are not always the smartest, they’re the most determined.

Making consistent money in your business takes grit. It takes a decision that says, “I’m doing this no matter what.” It means sticking to the plan even when it feels like nothing is working.

There were months in my business where I felt like giving up. But I didn’t. Because I was determined to win. I believed in the long game.

Be more committed than you are discouraged.

5. Frustration 😤

This one is surprising to a lot of people. But I want you to lean into your frustration.

Frustration is a sign that you care. It means your desire is bumping up against your current capacity or circumstance. You’re trying, and it’s not working the way you want.

Good. That means you’re in the arena.

Use that frustration as fuel. That’s exactly how I created my F.I.R.E. Offer framework, how I launched new products, how I rebuilt offers that weren’t converting. Because I was pissed off and ready for a shift.

Let your frustration move you toward refinement.

Bonus Emotion: Courage 💪🏾

None of the above works without courage.

It takes courage to feel embarrassed and keep going. To be visible. To be proud. To stay determined. To be frustrated but still get back in the game.

Courage doesn’t mean fear is gone, it means you’re moving forward with it.

If you’re in a season where things feel hard, emotional, or stretchy, I want you to know… you’re probably closer to a breakthrough than you think.

Final Thoughts

Most people think they need a new strategy to make money. Sometimes, yes. But more often, what they need is to feel the right feelings and take action anyway.

These emotions? They’re not obstacles. They’re invitations.

If you're ready to build a business that pays you—and grows you—then start here: let yourself feel.
