IGNITE: The Year Everything Fell Apart… and Then Fell Into Place
When Everything Is Falling Apart, What If You’re Actually Falling Into Alignment?
Have you ever been through one of those “what the HELL is going on” seasons in your life?
You know, where EVERYTHING is failing?
Your confidence, your offers, your whole damn business?
That was me.
This episode of The Docs Get Money Podcast is a raw, unfiltered solo conversation with myself—recorded just before I go out on maternity leave—about what it really looks like to build something powerful from the ashes of what didn’t work.
I talk about how during the “WTF” of my life and business I created and launched IGNITE, my signature coaching process that now helps doctors sign their first or next high-ticket client in 90 days or less.
Spoiler alert: it started in the bathtub. Crying. Questioning everything. Wondering if I even had what it took to keep going.
When Your First Clients Don’t Renew, And Your Assistant Quits…
Let’s rewind to early 2024. My clients weren’t renewing, my in-person assistant for Sherwood Properties quit, and I was feeling like an absolute failure. I was still working locums, still coaching, still juggling a million things—and feeling like none of them were working.
The worst part? I believed I had something valuable to offer. But the results weren’t showing up. And as a doctor and a coach, nothing shakes your identity more than wondering if what you’re doing actually works.
So I did what any emotional Pisces with a pen and a vision would do: I got in the tub, lit some candles, cried, and started over. From scratch. I scrapped my nine-step coaching framework that wasn’t landing, and I asked myself: How did I actually sign my very first client? That question became a journal session… that journal session became a five-step process… and that five-step process became IGNITE.
The Power of Perseverance (Even When You Feel Like Quitting)
The truth is, IGNITE didn’t magically change everything overnight. The first round wasn’t perfect. Some clients didn’t get the result. But one did. And then another. And then another.
I knew this thing worked.
I had created something from my own lived experience that was now helping other physicians build real businesses, make real money, and claim their power outside of clinical work.
But more than the strategy, I learned perseverance is the magic.
IGNITE only exists because I was willing to start over. Because I was willing to simplify. Because I didn’t let the disappointment take me out of the game. Because I believed in the vision God placed in me—even when I had no proof that it would work.
From Solo Clients to Group Coaching to Six-Figure Results
Fast forward to today, and IGNITE has gone from a one-on-one experiment to a full-blown group coaching program. My clients are signing $6K, $10K, even $63K worth of coaching clients in under 90 days. I’ve hired support. I’ve created structure. And most importantly, I’ve stepped into the confidence that I am a business coach, and a damn good one at that.
Even through two failed launches, a shifting identity as a doctor, and a first-trimester fog that had me questioning everything—I stayed with it. I evaluated. I refined. I simplified again. And it worked. Not overnight. But in time.
IGNITE became the gift I didn’t know I needed.
